First G2G Proposal

In order to tackle the immense scale of supply gaps among our units, as well as address the significant technical shortcomings of consumer grade drones (DJI, Autel) being used on the battlefield, SIRIN began methodically planning a multi-part supply proposal with its partners in the late spring and summer of 2022 for potential funding by western governments.

#OperationLybid — originally meant to provide state of the art night vision, thermal optics, and electronic warfare resistant drone systems to special ops units throughout Ukraine — was finally successful a year later in July 2023 when the government of Norway announced funding for a portion of the original request by donating x1000 kits of FLIR Black Hornet 3 nano drones. This approximately Є50MM EUR value package, distributed to units in multiple branches including SBU, GUR, NGU, and SSO, would go on to be utilized in all frontline areas of operation in the war.

Lybid - from Ukrainian (Либідь) and Old East Slavic (Лыбѣдь):

  1. according to the Primary Chronicle, Lybid was the sister of the three brothers Kyi, Shchek and Khoryv, legendary founders of the city of Kyiv
